About Israel's "Business Networking Group"

Background

The B.N.G was founded in 1993 by eleven Israeli under-graduate students, whilst sitting at a coffee shop. Today the "Business Networking Group" is an organization composed of about eighty members, all young academicians and students of diverse fields, whom are business oriented. The B.N.G enjoys sponsorship of the "First International Bank", one of Israel's top 2 most profitable banks .

Goals

Networking & creating business opportunities on a local and international level.
Learning through the successful experiences of Israel's prominent business figures (all the things we were never taught at the university).
Involvement & interaction with local communities - promoting entrepreneurship & higher education in local communities, by tutoring and leading groups of high-school students.

Structure

We are proud to be free of obligations or commitments and we lead ourselves towards the goals we set. The B.N.G. has a board of directors, whom are divided into three main committees, the post of chairman and a treasurer. The three committees are:

Personnel: This committee is in charge of the computerized personnel and networking data-base, and the selection of new members to the B.N.G .
External Affairs: This committee is in charge of cultivating our relationships with businesses, organizations and lecturers.
Administration: This committee is in charge of organizing our monthly meetings, social gatherings and visits to industrial foci of interest.
Activities

We meet on a monthly basis, meeting with leading figures in Israel's business community. We have been privileged to have had as guests chairmen and presidents of Israel's largest investment banks, brokerage firms, real-estate companies and captains of the various industrial branches.

These social gatherings are more than just learning experiences, they prove to be fertile ground for both friendships and partnerships. But this is no surprise: it is one of our goals.

The B.N.G. visits industrial plants and other monetary centers, in order to learn and expand our knowledge in the relevant fields.

The B.N.G. joined ventures with the Israeli branch of the "International Junior Achievement" organization. This productive relationship helps us in achieving one of our goals: involvement and interaction with the community. We lead groups of high-school students through their first steps in the world of entrepreneurship, passing the knowledge & experience we have gained.

Plans for the Future

As a consequence of the peace process in the Middle East, the opening of the borders and the end of hostility amongst the nations, it rests upon the young generation of businessmen to build the bridge for cooperation between the nations, and to function as an example for collaboration based on equality and brotherhood, overcoming past grievances, on the way to building a new Middle East. Forming a Middle Eastern Business Networking Group - an organization that will plan for the future is one of our future plans.

The Goal

In order to fulfill these ideas, we wish to suggest the foundation of a "Middle East Business Networking Group" (re: M.E. - B.N.G), whose members will be young people with business orientation from all states of the Middle East, without any distinctions of origin, religion or gender. The immediate goal of this group will be the strengthening of the social bonds amongst the various members, relations which will hopefully blossom into fruitful business contacts.

Suggested Activities For a Start

1. The exchange of delegations.
2. Periodical meetings throughout the Middle East.
3. Mutual aid in the area of business, taking advantage of the established contacts between the diverse members.

The time is ripe to expand through the bridge of peace and make the most out of this tremendous opportunity we have recently been blessed with. There is a saying that "a journey of a thousand miles starts with one step". I hope that our neighbors will now take the initiative as well and meet with us at either country.
